MOLD CONSTRUCTION - PACIFIC RIM AND USA

Once your mold design is approved, the project focus transfers to the mold building process. With the latest technology in prototyping, CNC, EDM and necessary equipment to construct your mold, MacFam begins to build your mold to your exact specifications.

MacFam provides all customers with the option of building their molds at our facility or within the Pacific Rim.

Due to the many advances in mold making software and hardware technologies, mold construction and strategic lead times have been reduced significantly through international partnerships.

MacFam can deliver SPI certified class 101 through 104 molds within 4-5 weeks with savings as high as 20% to 35%! [actual savings may vary according to each project.]

Whether your project is for stack, multi-cavity or two shot molds, we have the resources to complete your project on time, within budget and to your specifications.

MOLD SAMPLING & PROGRESS REPORTING

Before a mold is approved for production, there is testing through a 1st article sampling.

The 1st article sample process is a joint effort between our Production, Quality Control Departments and the customer.

A F.A.I.R. (first article inspection report) is processed and sent to you for approval. This is the point where we either receive approval for production or continue with further changes to the mold.

Our process engineers record the details of the sampling process and the information will be used as the basis for setup instructions during subsequent production runs.

MOLD MAINTENANCE

Each mold stored at MacFam is included in our P.M.P. (preventive maintenance program). This P.M.P. program is a real-time monitoring system which allows us to create a custom tailored set of procedures for your mold based on actual cycle runs.

Our monitoring system notifies the appropriate personnel when your mold is ready for maintenance. The P.M.P. system, just as in the maintenance of your car, ensures that your molds achieve their optimum life cycle value while producing quality parts.

MOLD MODIFICATIONS AND REPAIRS

Modifications and/or repairs are an inevitable aspect of any mechanical moving part. We ensure all work has a complete repair and modification "on site" history.

"IRON CLAD" WARRANTY:

MacFam provides an "Iron Clad" 100% warranty. Regardless of location of manufacture, if the mold is not to your specifications, we will modify, repair or replace the mold at our expense. This gives you peace of mind.
